On May 19, Audare hosted its inaugural Speaker Series event—a quiet evening of meaningful conversation, thoughtful science, and shared table fellowship.
Held at a private home near Dallas, TX, the gathering featured Dr. James Maas, world-renowned sleep expert, former Cornell professor, and trusted advisor to Olympians, CEOs, and five NHL teams. The subject: sleep—not as self-care, but as strategy.
For over an hour, Dr. Maas walked attendees through decades of research with clarity and warmth, illustrating how sleep shapes cognitive performance, emotional regulation, memory retention, immunity, and longevity.
The tone of the evening was informal and flexible by design. Doors opened at 6:00 p.m. Dr. Maas spoke at 6:30. A dinner followed, with guests lingering into the evening—asking about melatonin, CPAP machines, screen-time tradeoffs, and how to help children sleep better in a system not built for their rhythms.
There was no panel. No program. Just purposeful conversation, centered around knowledge that can be put to use.
Audare will continue the Speaker Series this fall with topics that reflect its deeper mission: to preserve and grow not only wealth, but wisdom, wellbeing, and community connection.
